Can anyone help with this ? On the Carpenter CD there is a 2 nd daughter b.
1825 ? but no first name or marriage info and Rodney son of Moses & Naomi
has a daughter named Olive.

Regarding Moses Carpenter who d. 21 Oct 1861 in Franklin County, OH, I am
wondering if you might have in your files a daughter of Moses named Olive
Carpenter. (you do not have her listed in your Ancestry listing) She born
abt 1817 in Ohio. No parents names known. She married a John Lytle Cummins
in Hamilton County, OH in 1836. This family later moved on to IA & then to
Siskiyou County, CA.
In the 1860 Siskiyou County, CA census living with John Cummins & wife Olive
is a Rufus CARPENTER age 25 (b. 1835). I am finding no more info on Rufus
in this county after 1860. It is possible he returned to OH?
Also, I have an old letter written by Olive Cummins in Dec 1861. This
letter is written from Worthington, OH (Franklin County?) to her sister in
California. Olive mentions that just after her arrival in OH her father
died (she goes into description of his death).
I also noted that Moses' father is Rufus Carpenter and mother Olive
Whitcomb. Possibly the Olive Carpenter Cummins I am working with could be
named after her grandmother Olive Whitcomb??? And the Rufus Carpenter in
the CA 1860 census named after this Rufus Carpenter (grandfather perhaps)?
Olive Cummins letter also mentions having a brother with a large family of
his own. I do not know just who this brother might be.
Can you shed some light on this Olive Cummins which I discuss here??
Thanks in advance.
