Hello Everyone!
I am back from my extended vacation. Many of you never knew I was gone, eh?
I placed a view pictures on Facebook for those interested in where we went. See:

The Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project DOES NOT track Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) or Autosomal
DNA (atDNA) such as the Ancestry DNA test or the FTDNA Family Finder type tests on the
Y-DNA surname project.
Why? Because the different types of DNA tests are not compatible to direct comparison.
They are like apples and oranges. Each DNA test is a different tool for specific purposes.
I teach a class on DNA testing at the local Family History Center (aka FamilySearch
Library). It provides information about what you need to know about DNA testing. This
includes a brief on each type of the common DNA tests and a link to compare the DNA
testing companies costs and what they offer. I have placed the class handout at:
http://carpentercousins.com/DNATesting.pdf
If you need help with the atDNA or mtDNA type tests, email one of the Carpenter email
forums. Carpenter/Zimmerman genealogy, family history and even related DNA stuff is
encouraged!
