Jane,
Sandra Blum < theblums(a)sbcglobal.net > was researching this line in the early
2000s.
From the 1850 US Census in Madison County, VA, you cite:
Household 115 - Joseph Carpenter, Sr., Age 86 <---- brother to Andrew
Household 116 - Andrew Carpenter, age 80 <---- see below
Household 117 - Fielding Carpenter, age 42 <--- not mentioned in Andrews 1853 will,
likely a son of Joseph.
Your Andrew Carpenter-21681 b. abt 1770 VA – d. 1857 Madison, Madison, VA was the son of
Andrew Carpenter-150872 b. abt 1726 VA – d. 1795 Madison, VA and his wife Anna Barbara
Weaver-21680. And he was the grandson of Johann “John Carpenter” Zimmerman-150839.

Subject: [CarpenterCousins] Group 7 Carpenters in Virginia
Has anyone in the group researched the Carpenter families in the 1850 census for Madison
County, Virginia? I am especially interested in the following Carpenter families living
next door to each other.
Household 115 - Joseph Carpenter, Sr., Age 86
Household 116 - Andrew Carpenter, age 80
Household 117 - Fielding Carpenter, age 42
For brevity I am not listing other members of the households.
Given the Fielding name I am wondering if this family is the same as the Carpenters in KY
and TN during the same time period.
Thanks,
Jane Guice
