Does anyone know the dates Cephas was town clerk?
Was Cephas married and did he have any children?
I have a Rev. Joseph Carpenter in Ira around this time period and, am trying

Notes for CEPHAS CARPENTER:
He was one of the early settlers in town of Ira,VT., and was town clerk for
twenty-five years,march 8, 1792-1801, and March 1802 - March 2 1819. He took
freeman's oath in May 3,1779, and built the first frame house in town in 1789.
When the Baptist Church was organized in 1783, he was chosen clerk, and
retained that office for twenty years. He moved to Fairhaven ,VT., in 1821; and
died there.
Cephas Carpenter Homestead built in 1786 in Ira,Vt was rebuilt by Enos C.
Fish which he continued to live in abt 1848 untill 1888 when he died.
Was a Ensign in Rev war in Capt Lemuel Roberts co,Col Thomas Lee's regiment
