Hi Suzanne,
As you probably know, I had two major computer crashes within months of each
other. All what I considered non-critical genealogy items - like old
e-mails and Carpenter Forum messages - got trashed. I did not realize how
much I had used them, until they were gone. I would key word search and
such and came up with all sorts of stuff going years back.
I ran across Wm. Frank and could not place him. His family sounded familiar
but I could not place his ancestry. So I put out a query out.
Anything you could provide on the ancestry and descendants would be great.
Of course, you get a submitter tag and any Carpenter Data that I have that
you could use.
Thanks for the reply!

Subject: [CARPENTER] Re:Need history of William F.(Frank)Carpenter-I have it
Hello John,
I have lots of forward history on William F.(Frank)Carpenter. Actually, he
is
William Franklin Carpenter, first son and fourth child of
Timothy & Melinda (Miller) Carpenter, born 14 March, 1830 in Chautauqua
Co.NY.
You will remember that there was some lively discussion on the this list
about two years ago regarding the mixups of the children of two brothers
(Benjamin & Barnard Carpenter). These brothers were most likely the sons of
John Carpenter & 2nd wife,Ruth Horton, all from New York. I'm still
working
on that tangle.
The trouble came because both brothers (as well as other Carpenters in NY
area)
named their sons Timothy, Barnard & Benjamin. So there is a plethora of
Benjamins, Barnards & Timothys to be straightened out.
You may contact me for whatever information I can provide for you.
Regards,
Suzanne Carpenter, in Michigan,
