Thanks for the help. I spent over two years researching the northeastern Pennsylvania
Carpenters and found the ancestral ties for most of them, with the exception of Benjamin
Carpenter of Factoryville. For the most part, the Carpenters in Susquehanna and Lackawanna
Counties are of William of Rehoboth, with the exception of Joseph (b 1790) and William (b
1773) of the Carpenter lineage that traces back to William of Providence.
Than there is Benjamin of Factoryville. I firmly believe that he is a descendant of
William of Providence and, like others in the Dalton/Factoryville area (i.e. Capwell,
Rice, Taylor, Wall, Bailey, Colvin, Reynolds, etc.), migrated from Coventry, Warwick or
Greenwich area of Kent County, Rhode Island. This, being the southern portion of
Providence Plantation, is the area I feel has the best probability of finding
Benjamin's Ancestors
