Hi, Bruce and all:
I looked at this book at the CT State Library today.
It starts with the 3 generations of William (author indicates material from
Savage)
Then goes to Benjamin, son of 3rd William, through Eliphalet.
Says that Benjamin (and descendants) moved to Northampton, MA, then to Coventry
by 1708. (Probably moved with the migration from Northampton, after Indian
raids, to Coventry, Lebanon, etc. in CT. Several of my ancestors moved then,
also)
The line from there is very limited, only 9 pages, of descendants from
Benjamin.
None of it helped me, so I did not photocopy any of it.
I am searching for info in Benjamin to Henry to Henrietta of Ulster Co, NY.
Henrietta married Thomas Lewden Sawyer in 1839. Her brother Benjamin stood up
for her at her marriage. There is a DAR record for this family, but DAR records
(with evidence) are sometimes pretty flimsy until the late 1900's.
I also skimmed through some issues of the Carpenter newsletter, published in
the 1970's in Machias, ME. Some interesting stories, etc, lists of
Revolutionary soldiers, etc.
One item of interest was concerning a 200 page book, about to be published
(1976, I believe) by a Charles Carpenter. Has anyone seen this?
Meg in CT
Has anyone looked at this?
