Hi
?Does anyone have any information on the John Carpenter that was mentioned
in the Lincoln Co., NC
Apprenticeship Bond dated 7 September 1838? The bond reads in part, “The
Court of Pleas and Quarter
Sessions for the county of Lincoln, NC doth Put, Place, and Bind unto the
said George Kiser,
John Carpenter who is now about 20 years and one month old with the said
George Kiser to live,
after the manner of an APPRENTICE and Servant.... He is to be taught the ART
and MYSTERY
of a Black Smith". The 1840 census for Lincoln Co., NC (M704, Roll 364,
page 69) had two males in the
20-30 year group in the George Kiser household, and one male in the 15 to 20
year age group.
One of the two males in the 20 to 30 age group was George Kiser, who was the
other?
Also, who was the male in the 15 to 20 year old group?
Thanks, would appreciate any information.
