Hello All!
I go off to work and do a little over time and new results come in!
Please do not jump to conclusions. People totally unrelated may have the same 12 markers.
The odds may be small but they are there. When you look at the 25 markers there is a
better chance of a common ancestor.
The new test results may indicate that some members of the Virginia Carpenters are related
to the Providence and Rehoboth branches of the Carpenter families. They may have been
related in England more than New England, but this is currently just speculation.
That some of the New England Carpenters - Descendants of Joseph Carpenter-619 (Providence
Branch) and Hannah Carpenter-105 (Rehoboth Branch) moved south into Virginia seems
accepted. But other Carpenters may have come direct from England. This may be an
undiscovered or undocumented English Carpenter line.
I think this possibility is rather exciting!
John F. Chandler and I will be updating the Carpenter Cousins Web Page in the next week or
so. I will let every one know when this is done.
Until then ... Encourage other male Carpenters on the different family lines to submit
their Y-DNA!
Later,
John R. Carpenter

Subject: Re: Carpenter DNA project
I believe that we are all from the Providence line Y Chromsone speaking . My question is
if Richard is from the Va. Clan That Joseph was from The Long Island
( NY Colony) or rather he was thought to be if our DNA match maybe this proves that
that is true ?
