was married to Nancy Ann Potter May 31 1857 in Shaftsbury Vermont by Hiram
Bartow, Justice of the Peace, Nathan
was 21 at time of Marriage and Nancy was 16.
Nathan enlisted as a private in Company A 4th Vermont Inf under Capt John
E.
Pratt and died 4 Dec 1861 in Vienna,
Virginia at Camp Griffin of Typhiod Fever.
Pension Certificate # 5565 as of 11 Dec 1862 she was still Widowed.
on 5 sep 1863 Nancy received a Widows Pension of $8.00 per month
retroactive
back to the date of Nathan's death
in the letter dated 6 Jan 1863 Nancy states no surviving children.
