Subject: [CARPENTER] Carpenters of CT and NY
I am looking for information about my great-grandfather, Wilson
Carpenter.
He was probably born in Forestville, CT around 1835, and lived for a
while
in N. Bangor, NY before returning to Connecticut. My grandfather was born
in N. Bangor in 1876. Wilson's wife was Lucretia Jemima Snow, and their
children were Henry Lester (my grandfather), Howard, and Minnie. According
to a census report, Wilson was a "hock driver." I have traced Lucretia
Jemima's family back to her grandfather, Joel Doane, who was a soldier in
the American Revolution, but can't find any information on Wilson's parents,
except for one vague reference that they may have been from Vermont
originally. If anyone has any information on this branch of the Carpenters,
I would appreciate the input. Thanks!
