Mary,
My great grandmother Letitia Paralee Carpenter was born Oct. 07, 1869 in
Montgomery, AR. Her father Stephen Harry Carpenter was born Dec. 09, 1843
in Yalobusha, MS. (I have pictures of both). His father Owen Carpenter III
was born abt. 1813 in MS and died Sep. 29, 1861 in Clark (later Garland)
Co., AR. His father William Carpenter was born 1786 in NC. and died Jul.
03, 1863 in Franklin, AR. His father Owen Carpenter II was born 1765 in NC.
and died 1828 in MS. His father Owen Carpenter (aka Thomas Owen
Carpenter) was born 1740 in NC. and died 1780 in Moore Co., NC. He was
serving in the Rev. War and had come home to see his new born son when the
British came to his house, he went to the door holding his new son. The
British shot and killed him and the baby, and they were buried together in
the same casket. He was possibly the son of Solomon Carpenter who died in
1784. I hope this helps, I also have info on wives and siblings.

I'm interested in subscribing or gaining access to information
about the
Carpenter line in North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and
Arkansas. Anything prior as well, but there are many potholes out there.
Glad to share what I have. Thanks -
