My grand-nephew is at this date only one year old,so I quess I shall have to
wait quite a few years.

If you mean how can your brother join the Carpenter Cousins DNA project,
it's
not difficult. The project web page has links to the Join page, or he can
go to
FTDNA's web site and find the Join page from that end.
However, there's a question of efficiency here. There's a pretty good
chance
that your brother's DNA test results would be exactly the same as yours,
which
means that his test would have essentially no return on the investment.
If his
grandson is old enough to give informed consent for a test, there is much
more
room for a difference to turn up in his test results. (Twice as much,
to be exact.)
Therefore, I would suggest getting the grandson to join the project
instead of
your brother.
