TO: Anita White and Carpenter List Members,
Ms. White, please contact me off line. Call me on a phone. I
can talk a lot faster than I can type. I plan to come to the
Carpenter meeting at Mt. Pleasant, Texas, on Monday, June 24. I live
about two hours south of there.
Have we corresponded in the past??? Where do you live, phone
number etc. I think we can be of mutual bennefit to each other. I
can probably save you a lot of time on your planned research trip,
etc.
My previous posting to this list this morning sent before I was
through with it. I have been off the list for several weeks now
because of computer "messes/issues" that I think have to do with ATT
and perhaps spam filters at ancestry, etc.. My old e-mail addresses
seem to work except for
rootsweb.com e-mail subscriptions. My e-mails
to my sister's
att.net e-mail address in Florida are coming back
undeliverable when I know if is a good address.
This week I am trying to learn how to use this
gmail.com address
for
rootsweb.com e-mail subscriptions. I have resubscribed to some of
the lists for my main surnames. Just have not gotten many postings
back. So I was not sure it was working. Plus I am using my laptop
because my desktop got "fried" by a lightening strike last Sunday
afternoon. Did not get my dial up modem unplugged in time. Just hope
my computer engineer son can salvage the hard drive next weekend.
One of my grandmothers was a Carpenter from Edgefield/Trenton,
South Carolina area. Her family moved to Augusta, Georgia, after
1900. The other side of my family came to Wilkes County, Georgia,
right after the American Revolution, 1780's. I have been doing
research since 1967 when we lived in Tallahassee, Florida. I am
originally from those sections of Georgia and lived there as a child.
Have visited back there through the years and to South Carolina for
research trips.
I have a whole drawer of Carpenter paper files and on my Wilkes
County, Georgia, families and most, but not all, of the books
published on the area in my personal library.
