Join us as we celebrate the 200th anniversary of Reverend William
Carpenter's arrival in 1813 as Hopeful Lutheran Church's first pastor.
Discover more about the Life of Rev. Carpenter and journey with us through
this important time period.
The day will include:
- Reunion of Germanna descendants
- A timeline presentation of Rev. Carpenter's life including the discovery
of 12 handwritten letters by Rev. Carpenter which have been translated from
the original German.
- Featured Speaker: Travis E. Witt from Evington VA will be portraying
General Peter Muhlenberg, under whom Rev. Carpenter served during the
Revolutionary War. He will be speaking about the Battle of Yorktown for
which Rev. Carpenter was present. His brochure can be found on our website

- Lunch offered again from Kremer's Market.
- A Memorial Service will be held at the William Carpenter Cemetery here
in Florence KY
