I wish to apologize to the group for starting such a furor over a simple
question about members of the Sons of the American Revolution. I am a
member, and proud of my accomplishment. To become a member takes
genealogical research far beyond what most people do in the current state of
amateur genealogy. The process of becoming a member is demanding and
precise. It's not just finding dates and places, but primary source
documentation and defendable genealogical proofs that are verified by
several state and national registrars. The work that comes out of this
research becomes part of not only the genealogical but historical record of
our country at places such as regional and national genealogical and
historic archives. Again, I am sorry for the disturbance.

I feel the same way you do. I have two Carpenter lines, and I am only
interested ingenealogy research. One of my lines is of the
Zimmerman/Carpenter line, while theother is on my mother's Carpenter line.
Many good people have helped me with myresearch on both of the lines. I am
thankful for their help. Elsie McCain White
