Hi List-
Its been quite a few years since I have posted. I have a few more tidbits
that may help shed some light on my missing link Carpenter line. ( I also have 3
OTHER Carpenter lines..but they have been found!)
here is my puzzle...
My husband is a Carpenter. His grandfather was H. Whitney
Carpenter1900<Martin A.Carpenter1869<William Cullen Carpenter 1847< Ira
Carpenter ca 1800
Only info I have...Martin A. was born to William Cullen Carpenter on Staten
island, NY, previous to that they were in Brooklyn, NY.
William Cullen Carpenter's birth place is unknown (census says NY)... but I
did find his parents
Ira and Adelia (Cook) Carpenter in Rochester in 1840 (census and burial of a
child, Warren Dewitt S. Carpenter).
I have found another Ira in the Rochester, Monroe County area ..but most
records say his wife is a Nancy Hanniford.
Does anyone have Rochester NY Carpenters... and do the names
"Cullen", Warren and/or Dewitt connect through marriages with any known
Carpenters??
Also.. buried in the same lot as Warren (Mt Hope Cemetery Rochester) is a
Jennie E. Hammer, died 1921 b ca 1866???
Any bells for anyone????????
