You should check
www.familytreedna.com under the Carpenter surname. The
families of Fielding and Yelverton match in their DNA. There are also
quite a number of family matches in this particular family.
Years ago researchers had suggested that Yelverton came out of North
Carolina and might be German. I had researched him as a result.
He would appear to be of English descent and the site listed above
suggests that he came out of Virginia, to the Carolinas and then to
Tennessee.
