Copies of the book "Some Descendants of Jonathan
Carpenter of Still Run" are still available from
the author, James L. Carpenter Jr., at a very
reasonable price -- under $20 for some 235 pages
of meticulous research on a large and significant
family of colonial origin. They make a good
donation for your favorite genealogical library
as well, so that more family history researchers
can have access to the research to learn how they
may connect to these and other Carpenters. I'll
be glad to e-mail anyone the author's contact
information - he's retired in Florida now.
Benjamin Sampson Carpenter is not listed in the
book. It's believed that he is related in some
way, but no documented connection has come to
light so far. The book makes an excellent
starting point for researching the colonial
tidewater Virginia Carpenter families that
Benjamin's line may tie into -- Jim's 35+ years
of thorough family history research answers a lot
of "frequently asked questions" for southern
Carpenter researchers.

At one time, I had the original when I was
publishing the CARPENTER
CHRONICLES but no longer have a copy. Terry
Carpenter might have copy but
if not, I believe that I sent it to the Family
History Library in Salt Lake
City as they were on standing order with all my
publications. If they have
it, it would have been microfilmed and
therefore can be gotten from any
Family History branch library on loan.
Sorry that I don't have my copy as I would have
been happy to do a look-up.
