Thanks Gene, for clearing up the Joseph's for me.
I didn't know anything about Warwick . R. I. Carpenter family.
Thanks for the offer,
I do have a copy of The New England Historical and Genealogical Register,
159 (2005)
"Three John Carpenter: A Chain of Mistaken Identities,"
I need to go back and reread it.
I feel sad my Great-grandfather Hiram C. Carpenter died 31 Dec. 1945,
when I was 7 1/2 years old.
For some reason I don't remember him and I should?
I know I didn't attend his funeral, but remember that my mother and uncle
Floyd did
Thanks again for your help with the Carpenters,
Iris

Hi, Iris,
No, Joseph2 Carpenter of Warwick, R.I., and Musketa Cove, L.I., was the
son
of William1 and Elizabeth (Arnold) Carpenter of Providence, R.I.; his
first
wife was Hannah3 Carpenter, daughter of William2 and Abigail (Briant)
Carpenter
of Rehoboth, Mass. Joseph4 Carpenter, son of Joseph3 (Hannah3's brother)
and Margaret (Sutton) Carpenter, was of Swansea, Mass.
You'll find important, new information about Joseph3 and Margaret (Sutton)
Carpenter and their children--particularly their son John4--in "Three
John
Carpenters: A Chain of Mistaken Identities," _The New England Historical
and
Genealogical Register_ 159(2005):43-53, at 43-47 (also 361-62
[correction]). If
you don't have these, I'll be glad to send them to you as file
attachments.
