My great grandmother was Catherine Carpenter b. 1839 m. Jacob
Amerson
Lanery b. 1832. It is believed Catherine Carpenter died before 1880 as
Jacob, and his grown children were living in Gridley, Butte Co.,
California. I believe some of Catherine Carpenter's siblings were living
in that area from 1890-the 1900's. Nathinael Colonel Laney, son of Jacob
Laney, and Catherine Carpenter died in the middle 1930's. Person giving
the information to the funeral home was a Mrs. John Carpenter. I believe
she was the wife of Catherine's brother. The laney's had pictures taken
in Oroville, California, so it is possible the Ed Carpenter could be
related to my Carpenter's somehow. I will have to research more. I am
trying to uncover information on Catherine Carpenters siblings.
