I will keep you posted as to where this all goes. It does look like my brick wall is
coming down piece by piece though. I now know that I have wasted my time looking in
Arkansas for his death so will have to start looking in Wisconsin unless his pension
papers tell different. I at least have a better time period in which to search now and
it
will finally be solved. It took me 35 years to knock down the brick wall that was his
daughter-in-law and I don't have that much time to get through this one.
I do have one "good" lead for his parents and I will have to see where that
goes. It has a connection to Vermont as well. As the saying goes, stay tuned.
Happy hunting

I am watching all the discussion on Henry B. Carpenter with great interest
since I also have a Brick Wall at a Henry Carpenter, b. about 1795 and living
in Onondaga Co., New York.
My Henry married Roxana Fay and the Fay family came from Vermont.
In all of your Henry B. searches, should you come across a Henry and Roxana
Fay Carpenter, I sure would appreciate hearing about it.
I also have a Henry Carpenter Jr. who served in the Civil War from DeKalb
Co., Illinois.
