I too understand. Someone helped my uncle with my family and before my
uncle passed he gave it all to the LDS Center under his name. The man
who gave the information is still VERY angry and hurt because he wasn't
given credit for his work. He was very weary of sharing with me because
I was related. I have added his name to the information he shared but
will avoid sharing it with anyone else because of this. Susan

reply to Elsie. I want to second the opinion on sharing of genealogy
information. In our family we had one Aunt who had done a lot of
family
searching, she was so jealous of her notebooks that when she went into
a nursing home
she threw them all away so no one would "copy them". Her attitude was,
"I
looked it up, you look it up". We all lost by her doing that,
sharing
should be a way of life for genealogists. also, being open to being
corrected
should be a way of life. New facts always emerge, be open to them.
