Ruth,
Good to hear from you! Happy New Year!
Back in 2000, we were not using Y-DNA to help confirm genetic relatedness to
other Carpenters. Today it is very helpful.
If in your records, you can find a living male descendant of Horace, then
maybe we can get a Y-DNA test done. What do you think?

Subject: Re: [CARPENTER] CARPENTER Digest, Vol 8, Issue 141
I, too, am still searching for more on Ezra and Anna. My connection is
Horace who married Abigail (Loomis) Lockwood - the marriage is listed in the
Ecclesiastical Record of the Whitehall Presbyterian Church. Abigail May
have been his second or third wife, as there are two gravestones in
Whitehall that are listed as "wife of Horace Carpenter." Horace and
Abigail, with children (including 2 by Abigail's first husband Clark
Lockwood) moved to Racine County, Wisconsin via Cleveland, Ohio. There is
an Anna Carpenter in Whitehall in 1820 and 1830 census, but no way of
telling if that is Ezra's wife/widow.
Any help appreciated or suggestions of where to search and how to verify if
"my" Horace. Is the son of Ezra and Anna and brother to their offspring
listed in Amos Bugbee Carpenter's book.
