Hi all,
Glad to hear you are recovering quickly John. I am wondering if bad knees
are another Carpenter trait. My father had bad knees and so do I.
I've just returned home after being away since April 30th and . . .
just had to get in on the Carpenter toe discussion. I have the longer toe,
but I remember a discussion about a Carpenter trait that the second and
third toes were webbed; some have higher webs and some lower webs between
these two toes. Also, the white patch somewhere in the hair of the
Carpenters. My father, Harry Murdock Carpenter 1910-1986, had a white patch
on the back of his wavy brunette hair. I have a blonde spot on my head of
brown hair. My father was 6 ft tall, I am 5' 8.5". I have a sister
5'5'
and two half-sisters who are 5'5' tall. I don't remember my father's eye
color, but I have blue-green eyes with gold flecks through them. If you
read Edward Rutherford's book "London", it talks about the Carpenters and
their physical traits. White patches in the hair, webbed toes and fingers,
and large heads back at the time the plague hit London (I'm not remembering
the years). These were their family physical traits. The book shows how
the traits fade slowly until they are not as prominent in descendents.
I think genetics is a fascinating subject.
I'm wondering if you Richard, are the same Richard that asked me for my
Carpenter information a year or so ago, and said "Wait til you see what I
send you on the Carpenters". I sent you all my Carpenter information and
you never sent me anything. I guess the joke is on me. It is a shame that
you are so angry.
I think this is the greatest list.
