Hi, Cousins. I have had some health and other difficulties and have been
away from email, etc., for a few years. Now I have a new PC and am ready to
get back to my Carpenter searching. I don't have any of the skills that Gene
has, but I laugh a lot.
My Carpenters descend from John Carpenter and his wife, Liza Sweet, who
lived in Madison County, NY, specifically at Munnsville and DeRuyter. I am
working right now at getting back into my data and working to get the family
tree on solid ground back to John (b. 1797), and hope to get a Carpenter
book together by the end of summer. After that, I hope to find out more
about old John's background prior to the 1820s.
I am glad that I arrived bsck now, as it seems as though the most recent
battles are suspended, and that will allow me to hop on to the next set. Is
it only Carpenters who can battle so well with each other? Maybe it's
simply the fault of the First Amendment'
Okay, I have spoken. It's great to be back, and I will try to lurk until I
have something to say. The only Carpenter I ever knew who did that was my
father, Osmer S. Carpnter. Nevertheless, I will do my best.
