John,
I just wanted to say again how much I enjoy hearing the stories and culture of our ancient
Carpenters! Just the "facts" alone would not have filled out their personal
lives for me, and I would have missed out on knowing who they really were. I would
encourage our Canadian and Australian cousins to share with us more of their Carpenter
culture. How exciting it was to hear that some of very own lines settled in Australia!
I'm sure that was also true of the Canadians.
Barbara Carpenter Martin, descendant of William of Providence.

Deborah,
Thank you! Me too!
Was your Bambergs from Mississippi? Descendants of Eugene Blewett Bamberg?
(1854-1925)?
On my family line, my mother and my two older sisters were born in the city
of Bamberg in Bavaria, Germany. I still have relatives and fond memories of
Bamberg.

I enjoy very much the Carpenter related genealogical information. One of my
great grandmothers is a Carpenter, married a Bamberg.
I have found the commentary on all fronts interesting. I would appreciate
information on your countries at the given times so that I may celebrate
with you. God has blessed these last four hundred plus years in ways not
previously known. They may be coming to a close and we should celebrate
them for as long as possible. Some of my ancestors came here for religious
convictions (French Hugenots escaping French Revolution, Scots
Presbyterians escaping Anglican persecutors, Lutherans for unfound so far
reasons, Virginia Company men who later brought wives, among many others),
some for a way to survive. I have lived in a time of relative peace but
that too may be ending. Only time will tell. Hope all who are U. S.
citizens had a joyful 4th. Hope all others will share their independence
day celebrations too. Blessings

Vivian,
My paternal uncle, Melvin T. Carpenter and I have also done the Family
Finder test and I am part of the Y-DNA Group 16 of South Carolina Carpenters
that John mentioned. You do not show up as a match in either of our long
lists of Family Finder matches. I believe that you and I have corresponded
before on
Ancestry.com, but have failed to find a genetic or genealogical
link between my Group 16 John, Thomas or Reuben Carpenter and their close
neighbors in Group 24 that includes your Adam Carpenter.
I hope you keep searching and have better luck with Group 24 tests,

Thanks for your message. I have some other projects and activities going on
for the next little bit. I will try to get back to you later. Just seems
as though when we people who are addicited to genealogy and family history
research are occupited with other projects, that is when we get the most
contacts from other people.
