I have been studying the lineage charts/results for Group 3 and
"unconnecting lines matching Group 3" hoping to solve my brick wall,
and have a question. Can the results for FTDNA #9462 and FTDNA
#6803 be used to prove or disprove their descent from a common
ancestor, ie Ezra, C #24571?
The short answer is no. 6803 and 9462 differ at 4 loci out of 37,
which means that we cannot expect them to be more closely related
than any pair randomly chosen from Group 3. The results show that
they *do* have a common ancestor, but not who, when or where.
The Horace listed at the top of the
column for FTDNA #6803 is my GtGtGrandfather...
Edward P. Carpenter, son
of Horace, was the only male Carpenter in that line.
Now I'm confused. Are you talking about the same Horace in both of
those sentences? The line for #6803 shows Horace with a son Isaac
D. born 1838. Did you mean Edward P. was the only *other* son of
Horace besides Isaac? Or are you saying that Isaac wasn't a son of
Horace after all? Please clarify!
