Thanks, Phoebe.
Remaining unanswered, of course, are the original questions: Where was
Isaac Carpenter of Minisink born, and who were his parents? The same
goes for Ruth, John, Benjamin, Moses, and Susannah, some or all of
whom may have been Isaac's siblings. I see that Moses' age at death
(78 in 1829) implies a birth year of about 1851. If it's unlikely
that John5 Carpenter of Jamaica and Goshen (born ca. 1683
[Seversmith]) fathered Isaac (b. 1747 [Amos Carpenter]), it's all more
unlikely that he fathered Moses, who was born about four years after
Isaac (when John5 was about 68 years old).
It also occurs to me that, so far as I'm aware, there's no evidence
confirming that the Isaac Carpenter who made his will in 1811 and died
at Minisink in 1818 is the same Isaac Carpenter said to have been born
at Jamaica in 1747. That the Minisink man's two known children--Susan
and Ruth Ann--were born in 1806 and 1810, respectively, suggests a
younger man. The man Isaac names as co-executor of his will, Daniel
Carpenter of Goshen, was presumably the man of that name born in 1773,
the son of Daniel6 Carpenter (John5?). It's reasonable to assume that
Isaac and Daniel were related. But how? (Amos B. Carpenter, in his
account of Isaac, identifies co-executor Daniel as his son but, in
keeping with Isaac's will, lists only Susan and Ruth Ann as his
children. That Isaac leaves all his real and personal estate to his
two daughters tends to rule Daniel out as his son.)

Gene,
Moses did not die, but moved to Onondaga Co., NY. His will has been
published and grave located. He married first Elizabeth Runyon of
Morris Co. NJ
and had a daughter, Elizabeth Runyon Carpenter who married James
Wisner of
Orange Co. Married second a Smith from Orange Co.
Elizabeth Runyon Carpenter and James Wisner had several children,
including
my ancestor, Elizabeth who married Joel Melvin, their son, Milan
Morrel
Melvin was my ancestor.
