Robin,
Good Ops!
You are correct. That date is from the IGI/AF and is probably off. The
marriage date in the early 1730s is much more likely. Unfortunately no one
has ever provided a documented date.
The death date is also vague. "Abt 1753/1763" We know she was alive when
her husband's will by proven and she is not listed in another record (I
forgot which one) in 1763 which assume her death between those date.
The birth date is also one of those IGI/AF dates. "1671/1695" She was
probably as old or a bit younger than her husband, so "abt 1695/1705" would
be a better guesstimate.
In the CE database, everyone has a birth year, even if estimated. When you
have over 1300 William Carpenters ranging over about ten centuries, an
estimated birthyear is very helpful.

Subject: [CARPENTER] Samuel Carpenter
Hello John:
I do not recall seeing/knowing your information (below)
regarding Patience, wife of Samuel Carpenter. Do you know of some
record or evidence of the marriage "about 1717 in Goshen"? And what
is the evidence of her death "about 1753"?
We know from Samuel's will that wife Patience was with child
in 1752. So she was likely not more than 45 years old at that time,
so probably born no earlier than 1707...in which case she would have
been no more than 10 years old in 1717.
