Hello:
I had written to the First Presbyterian Church in Binghamton, looking for
information on my elusive CARPENTER family (Isaac K CARPENTER and his
daughter Mary Ann CARPENTER, who became my GGM through marriage to Irwin
THOMPSON)., and the Church Historian responded that they have no record of
this family.
Mary Ann was supposedly born 22 Oct 1830 in Binghamton, according to her
death certificate, with her father's name being Isaac K. CARPENTER.
Therefore, I am trying to find out if anyone has addresses for any of the
other Churches in that city or area.
Thanks in advance for any information. Mary Anne

Looking for info on Amanda CARPENTER who was born in
1818 and married John Lewis Mulkey in Johnson County
Missouri on 8/21/1836. She died enroute to Oregon and

Trudy,
I have been researching your Carpenter (originally Zimmerman) family for
over 20 years. My grandfather Carpenter was born in Johnson Co.,
Missouri, in 1870. Your William Carpenter was his great-uncle. My
grandfather and most of his family left Missouri following the Civil
War. He went to Texas. I know that your Amanda is part of this family
because her name is on charts sent me by a Virginia Carpenter who wrote
a manuscript on this family entitled CARPENTERS STATION. This was one
of the very first "stations" established in Kentucky County, Virginia,
during the American Revolution.
William Carpenter is the oldest child of Adam, one of the three brothers
who settled just west of what is now Hustonville, Kentucky, in 1779
along with a few other neighbors from Rockingham Co., VA.
William Carpenter b. 19 Dec 1785 md Mary Warren in Lafayette Co.,
in CaseyCoKY
MO in ??? Children:
Beaufort Carpenter
Amanda Carpenter
Zerelda Carpenter
James Carpenter
Sarah Carpenter I have no more that I used. ..
William is son of:
Adam Carpenter b. 20 Apr 1760 md Catherine Spears, b.6 Sep 1760
RWS
There are 7 children.
Adam is son of George Zimmerman/Carpenter RWS?, immigrant from Zurich,
Switzerland.
Catherine is daughter of George Spears RWS, immigrant from Germany and
Alsace Lorraine (not proven).
