<Hello Everybody,
<I am so excited. I went to LDS Library and found my CRUISE family listed in
1870 Clay Co. Census and a CARPENTER living with them. I would like to say
THANK YOU to everyone who has given me help. My 87 yr old Great Aunt Ruby
Emmeline (Cruise) FITZGERALD had given me the names of her father and
grandfather as :
John Nelson Cruise and J. T. (John Thomas) Cruise.
She said her grandmother was Ruthie Frances CANDY.
Now announcing their names as listed on census:

My gg grandpa J.T Cruise was born 6-3-1833 GA died 4-26-1915 in Clay
Co.
My gg grandma Rosa Ruthie F. CANDY was born 6-16-1837 ALA died 4-4-1907
My g grandpa John B. Nelson Cruise was born 4-25-1866 ALA d.1-28-1955 C.C.
My g grandma Wilma Emmeline AVERY was born 1-25-1870 GA died 1-26-1957
Clay Co. (Wilma's grandparents were on the same census. They are Edmund and
Adeline PHILLIPS if anyone else needs that info.)
James T. Cruise gave the land in Clay/Calhoun Co. to his son John B. Nelson
Cruise.
Our James T. Cruise was in the Civil War, per his daughter, and she kept a
picture of him in uniform on the dresser. There is a John NELSON who fought at
Overlook and so did a Cruise. Possibly connected? My great aunt who had the
picture was
Clara (Cruise) McKAY and we believe now her daughter Louise has it or possibly
her other kids Jack or June.
Per my Great Aunt Ruby (Cruise) Fitzgerald, her father had no brothers, only
one sister and the sisters son would visit now and then. The son was an
ALLEN.
James T (J.T.) Cruise is buried at the Olive Branch Cemetery in Clay Co. ALA
<<along side his wife Ruthie "Rosa" Frances (R.F.) Cruise .
<<All and any info appreciated on my "new" family.
