Hi,
I am new to this list. I supscribed on the 21st so I really haven't had a
lot
of messages come in to see what is going on.
I was released this last summer as director of the local FHC after 5 1/2
years.
I am now going through boxes and envilopes that my sister has sent me over
the
past few years and trying to organize them.
Oh yes, you probably want to know where my CARPENTERS come in. My CARPENTERS
are from Noble Co., Ohio and are married into the FORDYCE line.
I would wait a while to post but I found something that Billi might be
interested in and possibly others. This may give some leads to search in.
CARPENTER Family
John Carpenter, musician and showman came from Germany in early part of 18th
Century and settled near Antietam, Maryland. He later moved to Moundsville,
West Virginia with his family and the children later settled in Southeastern
Ohio. They were in the fort at Wheeling at the time of Indian wars and
described in Zane Greys novels and Joseph Carpenter and his wife Sina
Gillespie
were associates of Betty Zane at that Fort. I do not know the name of John
Carpenters wife whom he married in Maryland.

Joseph's grandson wrote this.
Of course this is just family tradition and as such has to be proven but this
seems to tie in to Billi's information. I have a couple of letters talking
about a book on this line, dated 1993 so it could be published by now. I
also
have run across copies of different vital records. Should I post these as I
run
across them or wait until I get things organized?
