Jacie,
Could you check to see if there are any marriages listed for a William Runyon
and a Nancy Carpenter. I think it was in 1815-1820 in Mercer County, KY.
Thanks,
Marilyn Turner
Hi Marilyn,
This may be clear "off the wall," but I decided to run it past you anyway.
My ancestor, MOSES CARPENTER whose (deceased then) first had been ELIZABETH
RUNYON, dau. of RICHARD RUNYON and JANE VANCOURT was the executor of the will
of PHINEAS DUN in Orange Co. NY 1780s.
PHINEAS DUN's widow was ANNE and two daughter, Elizabeth and Z_____ were
mentioned in the will. The Warwick, Or. Co. NY Census for 1790 lists both
Moses Carpenter and Anne Dun.
Many of the Runyons and Dunns were intermarried and lived in Middlesex Co., .
I book, probably the -Piscatway Planters, or some similiar title suggests that
the descdents "Phineas Dunn" were looking for him. These descendants,
according to the book were in the south. Several members and other persons
who had intermarried with these families did go to the southern states. I am
wondering if it is possible that the individuals that you are searching may
have been in some manner associated with Phineas and/or the Or. Co. NY
Carpenters.
