There have been four of us distant cousins
trying to crack this Carpenter case. Have
discovered some new information, but
nothing that takes us back another generation.
Just wondering if any of the following looks
familiar:
Caleb Carpenter b 1774 RI or maybe VT
m Rhoda Dyer 1795 d Arcade,
Wyoming Co. NY 1819-1825
This family while in NY lived first in LeRoy
and then Arcade - 1804 until 1830's.
Their children were:
John b VT?
Dyer b 1899 VT
Samuel b 1802 NY
Daniel b 1808 NY
Jeremiah b 1810 NY
Nettie b 1812 NY
Anna b 1815 NY
Mary b 1817 N
(then Caleb married)
Mrs. Rebecca Olds
from Gainesville, NY
They moved to Richland Co.,
Ohio and then Seneca Co. OH
They had three children, a couple
of them probably born in NY
before they left.
Charles D. b 1825 NY?
Amasa Green b 1828 NY?
Rebecca Jane b 1831 OH
Caleb died Aug. 13, 1847 in Seneca Co. OH
Caleb had a brother named John and a sister
Sophia. Caleb's father's name was John and
also had an uncle named William. It was
William and John and unknown brother who
came from England. Migration pattern of this
family we think is RI>VT>NY>OH. So is this
another new Carpenter line? These three brothers
in the family Bible state that the family was originally
French (but no date or timeline given on this). Any
hints, clues or help is very much appreciated.
Thank you, Penny from Nebraska
