Ok. First, I'm using Family Tree Maker, version 4.40. Think I've got
the location thing figured out.
First click the report icon on the tool bar.
Click the contents menu and choose "Individuals to Include in Report"
In the box that appears: click in front of "selected individuals" then
click below on the button that says "individuals to include"
Now you have a box that's split. Available individuals are on the left
and an empty box under "you have included these individuals on the
right"
Click the find button in the middle.
In the ADD INDIVIDUALS box, click the down arrow to the right of "Name"
Now you have a list of choices. Picking the "birth location" will give
you everyone born in a certain place. Click that. Then in the "for"
area type the location as you entered in in your database. ( for example
I picked Coffee Co., TN because that was how I entered it in all my
records.)
When you've made your choice you have a report listing just those ppl
with the common factor you chose.
This is a real find and will allow us to pull ppl out of here by lots of
common factors.
Excuse me if the directions are over explained. I spend every day
explaining computer stuff to little kids. Let me know how you do.
