<< Carpenter Family in Duthcess
Co. NY. I am trying to find to find information there on a John W.
Carpenter
b. 6 March 1800. He may have had a brother named Jacob. I found a Jacob born
in Clintondale about that time. But have no connection. He left NY and went
to
Henry Co. about 1830 and married Margaret Turner in 1831. He finally settled
in Washington Co. Alabama and died 5 Feb. 1900. >>
Roy, I've just started to go through the Amos B Carpenter book on CD. I know
I've gone through some Carpenters in Dutchess County. I can't connect with
your John W specifically but I do find a John Carpenter (312) b. 11-17-1747
in Jamaica, LI, NY; m. Mary Carpenter (334) 3/1771; she b. 2-20-1751/52. I
don't have children for them at this time. He settled at "The Nine
Partners," Dutchess County, NY and resided at Pittstown,NY. eight miles from
the North River. They also resided at Washington Hollow and probably held
the office of Adjutant.
I will be updating my home page about the first on the month and the family
above will be in the report.
