It is nice to see that everything is up and running again.
I have just received the leading edge of some research that asserts that
Temple CARPENTER(b. 1769) of Moore and Montgomery Co., NC is the son of
Thomas CARPENTER, who is the son of Owen CARPENTER. Thomas is
established as Temple's father through Bible record and I am awaiting
confirmation that the same Bible or other evidence proves Thomas to be
the son of Owen (Sr. presumably).
Although the Carpenter book by Amos Bugbee Carpenter contains over 900
pages, I don't believe there is mention of even one Temple or Owen Carpenter.
You might try writing to a fella in KY who publishes a CARPENTER magazine
of sorts.
His address is:
James Ausie Carpenter
P.O. Box 1356
Bowling Green, KY 42102-1356
This is also one of the publications where Raymond Carpenter, genealogist
for the Carpenter family in America work is published.
Raymond corrected some of Amos Bugbee's early English lines in the Rehoboth
Carpenter book.
Jessie gets a lot of input from Carpenters all over the US and just may
have yours?
I know I have looked for them before for you without much success....
We'll just have to keep at it :)
