John, Charles Lorain Carpenter is dead, but I assume
his son is still alive. One of our other cousins,
Susan Carpenter Ericksen of Austin TX and I tried a
bit to track him down to see if there had been any
additions to the line either before or after the
period covered, but haven't found him yet.
In any case, Amos Carpenter after publishing his big
book did connect Thimothy to the Rehoboth Carpenters
as well as to the RI Carpenters. If I can dig it out
I'll send to you unless someone with better
organization than I does so first. Susan and I are
6th cousins. That makes her the most distant
relative I've ever knowingly met. And of course we
did find we knew some of the same people. It is a
small world.

Is there anyone who knows whether Charles Lorain

if any of his descendants are continuing his family

work? In 1976, Mr
Carpenter published a book titled "The Descendants
of
Timothy Carpenter of
Pittstown, Rensselaer Co., New York". I descend
from
Jeremiah Carpenter, one
of the children of Timothy and who was chronicled
in this book,
and have been
interested in finding Mr. Carpenter or his family
-- or anyone
else working on
the Jeremiah branch. Thanks.
