This is not the ONLY CARPENTER/ZIMMERMAN line as mine hails from Germany
originally, migrated to PA. (Berks County) then on to Hocking Co. OH.,
then Indiana and many other places. Have hit a stone wall at the
Carpenter/Zimmerman line as the name was changed from the original
(Zimmerman) abt 1800. Need to find parents of Benjamin Zimmerman, my 4/g
Grandfather, b. abt 1775, supposedly in Berks Co. PA.
I guess I should have placed this reply at the end of the original note
but afraid people would quit before they got to it.
