THIS INDENTURE made the seventeenth day of October in the year one
thousand eight
hundred and five between David Carpenter and Catharine, his wife, of
the
County
of Harrison & State of Virginia of the one part and JACOB EIB of
the same
place
of the other part, WITNESSETH that they the said David Carpenter and
Catherine,
his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of five Hundred dollars
to
them in
hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained
and
sold and
by these presents doth bargain sell & confirm unto the said JACOB
EIB and his
heirs and assigns one certain tract or parcel of land lying in the said
County of
Harrison on the westerly side of the West fork being part of a tract
granted to
Nicholas Carpenter & bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a
Dogwood
on the
Southerly side of a deep hollow and running thence S 7 E 14 poles
crossing
the
publick road to a stake N 59 E 20 poles N 35 E 14 poles N 3 W 35 poles
to the
said West fork thence down the same with its meanders 167 poles to a small
Sycamore & Locust thence by three lines of the original tract N 60 W 110
