"The posted information about the Bevis passenger list is not an
accurate transcription of the original list, it is an "interpreted"
version. The names appear correct, from what I recall, but the origin
of the Carpenters was not recorded as Wherwell, it was "Horwell" which
has been interpreted as most likely being the modern village of
Wherwell, but not for absolutely certain, as there are other locations
with similar names." (Thanks Terry Lee & Dave!)
