i. GILES2 SEAMAN, m. LYDIA MOTT, 1784, Westchester County,NY.
Notes for LYDIA MOTT:
3. Martha Titus, 3rd in the course- of Edmund Titus' children, married
Benjamin Seaman, son of Capt. John Seaman of Hempstead, a leading man in the
settlement of that town. They lived together upwards of fifty years and had
several children:
Benjamin, Jane-,'Martha, Jacob, James, Phebe, Elizabeth, Temperance, and
Solomon. Her son Benjamin [Seaman) married Jane Mott, daughter of Joseph
Mott, and they had several children; those who lived to grow up were
Elizabeth, Martha, Jane, and Benjamin. Elizabeth [Seaman] married Amos
Underhill and had several children: Isaac, Ann, Benjamin, Amos, David,
Solomon, and Edmund. Isaac [Underhill] married Mary Cock, daughter of John
Cock, but they had no children.
~Ann (Underhill] married Townsend Dickinson,
son of Zebulon Dickinson, and had several children. The five other
[Underhill] children are unmarried. (1760).
1801. Of these unmarried children of Elizabeth Underhill, Solomon was one
who married Lydia Mott, daughter of Adam Mott of Cowneck, L.I., and a
sister
of Adam Mott, Jr., who, with Anna his wife, were at one time
superintendents
of the Boarding School at Nine Partners. The said Solomon and Lydia
[Underhill] had a family of children; their oldest daughter, Sarah,
married William Waring of New York and became an active and useful member of
the Society in that city. Martha Seaman, daughter of the aforesaid Benjamin
Seaman, married William Seaman, daughter of John Seaman, deceased, of
Jericho.
They had several children, now all dead but one, Jane by name. (1760).
Jane Seaman has since married David Ketcham and has three children.-
