I have been trying to trace the following Carpenters
and have been unable to track it before 1831. There
are a number of clues but nothing solid. The 1880
census listed Harry's father as being born in Vermont
and mother in Connecticut.
Please let me know if you can take it back or if you'd

1. HARRY A. CARPENTER was born March 21, 1831 in New
York state, and died March 20, 1887 in Goodell,
Hancock County, Iowa. He married LUCINDA P. CRAWFORD
August 10, 1853 in Paw Paw, Michigan, daughter of
ABRAHAM CRAWFORD and LYDIA MILLER. She was born
October 12, 1837 in Van Buren County, Michigan, and
died February 21, 1922 in Goodell, Hancock County,
Iowa.
