Dear Bruce,
Grandchildren of Thomas - who was the possible son of Roger the Spicer.
All seemed heavily involved in the Bristol area even though they had
dealing in London.

Thoughts?"
This looks good. This Thomas should be Roger
the Spicer's brother. He is the first merchant Carpenter
in the area, with the exception of a few churchmen Carpenters,
who probably went to the area but left no children.
Edward I thought might have been a brother of Richard father of the Town
Clerk,
but this looks very possible. My only problem with Edward is that
I can connect him to Holborn. However,if he and his sons David
and Matthew worked in Shrewsbury, Cirencestre etc., then that assumes a
Bristol
Bay homebase.I found additional information on Matthew and David.
1414 Patent Rolls puts David in Cirencestre (wool and cloth town);
1413 Patent Rolls puts Matthew in Alcestre.
We know that Edward and family made cloth. This points to Thomas
as same or related business.
