Some of the Carpenters you have listed are from my line.
Ruben Carpenter is my great-great-grandfather. His daughter Lucinda was my
great-grandmother. She married James BIRGE, the son of Elijah BIRGE and
Sophronia SWIFT. The Birge's were also early settlers in Audubon County.
It is believed that Ruben Carpenter put in the first water mill in Audubon
county about 1856.
The early marriage records listed are for the son and daughter of Ruben.
The other Carpenter names are not familiar to me.
