G'day,
I just received some information from family members in Cinderford and now I'm stuck
on my great great grandfathers resting place.
Joseph Carpenter passed away between 1879 and 1913 at the Pittsburgh home for Sailors,
Pennsylvania.
His son was Edward John (1879 - 1946) who married Ann Victoria James 31/12/1913 (possibly
of Cardigan, Wales).
As I recall, Ann James remarried and became my Great Granny Weyman and passed away in May
1992 - She would have been a hundred and a day I reckon. Edward John also possibly had a
sister or a child by a first wife.......Alice Carpenter??? These are questions which
remain unanswered and as most of my family are gone - and I live in Oz, it's hard to
confirm facts at this stage.
Could anyone possibly assist with the USA end or the Forest of Dean end of things -
I'll chuck another name in from my memory - Dorothy Holder, who was first married to
my Dad's Dad, William Edward Henry Carpenter, and then after a divorce (another one!!)
she married an Izatt, (William?) also from Cinderford.
So, how about that?!
Thanx for the memories,
Steve Carpenter
