In the Carpenter genealogy the wife of Jotham Carpenter, Jr.is
given as Mehitable THOMPSON, with the marriage date of May 11,
1728 (245)*, however the record below says that *intentions*
were posted 6 April 1728, between Jotham Carpenter, Jr, and
Mehitable THURSTON which would indicate a marriage would have
taken place the next month.
**Intentions**
Groom: Mehitable Thurston
Groom Residence: Rehoboth
Bride: Jotham Carpenter, Jr.
Bride Residence: Rehoboth
Int Date: 06 Apr 1728
There was a Mehitable Thurston born to John Thurston and Hannah
Carey, the parents of the Sarah Thurston that married John
Carpenter in Rehoboth in 1717. The Thurston genealogy gives her
as having been married to a Nathaniel Huntington, but with no
date given, and I found no other information on this marriage.
What does the (245) mean after this marriage record given in "A
Genealogical History of the Rehoboth Branch of the Carpenter
Family in
America"? If is a number relating to any kind of documentation,
I couldn't figure it out by using the on-line version of the
book.

Using the on-line version of the book, I'm unable to find how
that number relates to documentation, if any, for this marriage.
