<< Don't forget the 1607 Shalbourne probate record for a Robert Carpenter.
>>
Unfortunately, the only Shalbourne church records extant for the period in
question are the Bishop's Transcripts (see TAG 70[1995]:193-201, at 194), and
they are fragmentary. The Carpenter entries presented in the TAG article are
the only ones I found in these records; I would nevertheless welcome others
to recheck them.
The sorted Bishop's Transcripts for Shalbourne are found in FHL film
#1279426, item 11. The unsorted ones are not filmed, but abstracts,
containing names and years only, are found in FHL film #1526634, item 17.
All the originals are held at the Wiltshire Record Office, Trowbridge.
<< On the subject of Horwell, there is a Hidden Abstract dealing with Rev.
Stephen Bachelor himself. He is referred to in connection with "Horell".

Bachiler was vicar of Wherwell from 1587 to 1605 and apparently continued to
reside there perhaps until 1614.
