John,
I am no longer on the Carp list. Maybe you will want to forward this.

Good afternoon !
I certainly hope to NOT offend anyone by listing this here, but I am a
fellow
researcher and I know that I would hope that someone would do the same
for
me.
I previewed an auction here in Washington State today. I have no
interest in
this auction or it's items. I am only a fellow researcher. The auction
begins
at 6:30pm Pacific time. At the auction is a suitcase, with the name
"Abram
Carpenter" painted on the side. Inside it says, "How to care for your
uniform", and there are personal papers from the said Abram Carpenter
and his
wife in EXCELLENT condition. The trunk/case is in perfect condition!!
There
is a mortgage agreement, some personal letters and some other kind of
loan
agreement. One of the documents is dated 1886! I know that if this were
MY
family, I would sure appreciate knowing it exists!!!
The auction house phone number is (253) 471-0755. Please ask for Jim
(the
Auctioneer) and Lot # 236. You may bid on this by phone!! He said to
just
call and let him know. If I may be of assistance, please email me
immediately
or call at (253) 770-3990. My name is Tracy.
Again, I ask forgiveness for those who are mailing list purists, but I
sure
think that this fits into genealogical information and I think that this
is a
once in a lifetime possibility. Please let me know if I can assist you
further.
Best wishes that this finds it's family on this NY list!!
